President Saleh meets George W. Bush

June 9 (Saba) – SEA ISLAND, June 9 (Saba) – President Ali Abdullah Saleh met on Wednesday with US president George W. Bush and discussed the US initiative aimed at promoting democratic and economic reforms in the greater Middle East. They have also discussed the latest regional and international developments of common concern.Meanwhile, President Saleh took part in the first session of G-8 summit which commenced its activities today in Sea Island , Georgia State. President Saleh also met with King Abdullah II of Jordan, King Hamad bin Isa Al- Khalifa, UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, Russian President Vladimir Putin, German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, French President Jacques Chirac, Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi, Ireland’s Prime Minister Bertie Ahern, lamented European Commission head Romano Prodi, and Condoleezza Rice, the US president’s national security adviser.The meetings focused on agenda of the G-8 summit and current situations as well as bilateral relations between Yemen and their countries.
