President Saleh meets Austrian official

SANA’A, Dec.8(Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh met on Wednesday with the visiting chairwoman of Austrian Federal Council Anna Elizabeth Haselbakh with her accompanying delegation. President Saleh welcomed Anna and her accompanying delegation and mentioned the Yemeni-Austrian deep-rooted friendship ties. In the meting they discussed the Yemeni-Austrian mutual cooperation relations in the parliamentary field and the means of boosting them. He asked her to convey his greetings to Austrian president Heinz Fischer and his hope of further progress for Austrian people. Anna conveyed greetings of Austrian president Heinz Fischer to president Saleh and his wishes of further progress for Yemeni people. She explained her admiration of Yemeni experience in democracy, respecting opinion, human rights, women participation and political plurality. She underlined the Austrian support for Yemen in health, education, technical training and projects of infrastructure as well as fighting terrorism. JW/NS SABA
