President Saleh lays foundation stone for new Parliament

SANA’A, March 31 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh laid the foundation stone for the new buildings of the parliament and the Palace of Culture and Hall of Conferences in Asir on Thursday. Sheikh Abdullah bin Hussein al-Ahmar, Foreign Minister Abu-Bakr al-Qerbi,and senior other officials and the Qatari Ambassador to Yemen Jassem bin Mohammed Ala Thani were on the site of the projects. The building of the parliament is designed with a seating capacity for 600 individuals in its sessions hall, and offices for the parliament speaker,and his deputies. It will have a library, car park, and service facilities.It will be constructed at a government funding. The Palace of Culture and Hall of Conferences will, however, be built at the funding of the State of Qatar. The halls of the project will have a seating capacity for nearly 3300 persons.
