President Saleh launches third security deployment stage
SANA’A, April 17, (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh launched on Saturday the 3rd phase of the Security Deployment in the military Central Security Camps. President opened formally a new ceremony stage for the barracks. Speaking the graduation ceremony for police cadets, President Saleh said “these graduating heroes will take over the deployment task.” The President spoke highly of the outcomes of the first two phases of the deployment. It is a chance to pray for the souls of the al-Rowdha martyrs, said the President in reference to the police officers killed on duty while exchanging fire with robbers in al-Rowadha area of Sana’a last week. President Saleh said that “we appreciate the work of the security servicemen who clamp down on crimes and bring fugitives to justice.” Those who shelter criminals, thieves and highway robbers, President Saleh warned, would not escape justice however an immune they might be. He continued: “Law rules all. No criminal will go unpunished. Those who have a record of harboring criminals and still do that must know that we mean them, know where they are and know that we will hold them accountable. There is no friendly room for acts of chaos, sabotage, highway robbery and terrorizing of people. The security authorities and military police must use an iron of fist against the outlawed.” President Saleh dismissed the rumors that the Government wants to disarm the people. “It is the right of the citizen to have arms but the legislative bodies have to regulate the ownership and carrying arms.” President Saleh noted that the economic development works only in the environment where security is ensured. He uncovered a government intention to “increase the salaries of the armed forces and the civil service persons to make up for the expensive living. The Interior Minister Rashad M. Al-Aleemi had delivered an address welcoming President Saleh and lauding his invention of the Security Deployment scheme. He said that 14,270 soldiers equipped with 200 well-armed military vehicles would be deployed into 13 security districts. The first phase of the Security Deployment was launched on July, 2002.
