President Saleh launches services, returns to Sana’a

ODEIDAH, May 29 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh returned from Hodeidah after an inspection visit during which he launched a number of developmental services. He witnessed the final phase of the Mobilization May 22, a military maneuver for units from the Northwest Region, the Marine Forces, the Coastal Defense, the Air forces and the Air Defense. This morning, President Saleh formally opened a number of developmental services in Hodeidah Governorate at a cost of Yr 3 billion. He laid the foundation stone for 40 schools in the counties of Sakhnah, Durayhimi, Bura’a, Japal Ras, Khawkha and Beit Al-Fakeeh at a cost of Yr 369,400,000. After that, he inaugurated Sakhna Power Plant at a cost of Yr 100 million. The project will improve power supply for the 5040 population of the county. Then, he opened the Sakhna Dispensary at a total cost of Yr 19 million. In Buraa County, President Saleh laid the foundation stone for Wadi Siham 29-km road, Wadi Siham-Bajel road at a cost of Yr 35 million. In Wadi Siham district, the President launched the second phase of operating the irrigation channels. The YR. 350,500,000 project was co-financed by the Government of Yemen and the European Union During his return to Sana’a, President Saleh inspected the conditions of the population living in districts along the highway, identified the projects they need and asked the authorities in question to make sure the needed projects are on the agenda of the local councils.
