President Saleh launches new projects in Aden
ADEN, Jan 31 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh launched on Monday a number of new projects in the province of Aden at a cost of Yr 60 billion. Along with Aden Governor Yahya al-Shuaybi, Secretary General of the Local Council, Abdul-Karim Shayef and senior other government officials, President Saleh opened 28 projects in field of electricity, roads, water, sanitation, education, fisheries, health, population and investment. President Saleh also pulled aside the curtains before boards marking projects that will get their foundation stones laid in the future. The future projects, 32 in number, are in field of electricity, education and cement manufacturing. The President opened the Aden Reesport station for cement packing, a joint Yemeni-Omani project worth of Yr 88 million. President Saleh, then, opened the Gulf of Aden anchor, a project belonging to Gulf of Aden Sea Company, an affiliate of the Hayel Saeed Anaam Group. The project is worth Yr 7 million rials. After that, President Saleh opened projects in field of telecommunication, information technology. The projects include Super Yemennet (a ADSL-based digital telecommunication link between Aden, Sana’a city, Taiz, Hadramout, Hodeida and Ibb). President Saleh was given an account on the Super Yemennet as a project meant to provide much easier telecommunication service, faster download of internet data and holding of video brainstorming sessions. The President also launched the project of Rasuamran-Bab El-Mandab 228km-long highway a crucial seaside road worth Yr 6360 million. AA/AA SABA
