President Saleh labels injustice biggest challenge

DOHA, June 15(Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh said Wednesday that the international injustice, the double-standard policy, and the aggravating poverty are the biggest challenges the Arab and Moslems face today. In his address to the G77 and China Summit in Doha, Saleh said that realizing justice and ensuring the right of peoples for legitimate struggle for independence and freedom would eliminate terrorism and extremism as direct outcomes of injustice. President Saleh also called on the rich countries to assist the impoverished ones “withstand poverty, unemployment and big debts”. The president also called for revamping the work mechanism of the G77 member countries to make it meets the aspirations of peoples. Political and democratic reforms, he stated, must originate from within the concerned countries themselves, not from the outside. He cited the progress of democracy Yemen which is reflected by local council and parliament elections. He confirmed that peace wouldn’t materialize unless the UN resolutions, regarding the Arab-Israeli conflicts which create a viable Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, are put into effect.
