SANA’A, June 1 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh called Wednesday for building a more modern military institution. Speaking in the graduation of military cadets in Sana’a, he called for providing the military with further training in using modern military vehicles. “Better training of forces means less losses (in their side),” the president pointed citing “what we have seen in the recent operations against rebels”. “When the well-trained troops took part, there were less losses.” “The armed forces is the institution of the whole nation and the party of all parties.” He boasted new developments in roads and telecommunications network and power grids. “Three more megawatts of gas-generated power will be supplied.” Saleh called on the opposition to assist the government by proving substitute economic programs and said that there are people who maliciously intend to damage the nation. He highlighted that the government is trying to diversify the sources of revenues in light of the risk of depending on meager oil reserves and referred to fisheries as a new choice. AA/NS SABA
