President Saleh inaugurates projects in communication sector
SANA’A, June 14 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh inaugurated on Wednesday a number of projects in field of communication and
information technology with a total cost of YR 18 billion and 799 million.
Saleh opened the 2nd stage of Yemen Mobile project that includes 253 stations to be added to former stations aiming to increase the
coverage in all governorates and islands.
President Saleh visited the Communication and Post Museum including an old requirements, files, documents, photos and maps talking over
the historical stations from 1857 till 2006.
Saleh also opened the 1st stage of Yemeni Future Company for Computer Producing with a total cost of US $ I million.
The company considers as a joint investment project among Yemen, Saudi, Kuwait, and Canada.
The projects aim to offer the computers with suitable costs to support the technology in the Yemeni society and get the benefit from
it in different areas.
President Saleh expressed his pleasure over what has been achieved in communication and information technology sector, pointing to the
importance of communication as a source to support the national economy.
He gave directions to the Communication Ministry to increase the communication services and to offer good post services to people.
