President Saleh holds talks with US Occidental Petroleum official

SANA’A, Jan. 08 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh received on Tuesday deputy chairman of the US Occidental Petroleum Corporation for the Middle East Bengal Hopkins who briefed Saleh on the corporation’s activities in the field of production, exploration and prospecting of oil and gas, in addition to the corporation investments during 2007 and 2008 which are mounted more then $ 350 million. He pointed out to availability of new oil explorations in block 20 which are under evaluation. President Saleh welcomed the corporation investment in the country, affirming that it will receive all support and encouragement to realize common interest of both sides. He pointed out to the available opportunities for the corporation to invest in the field of onshore and offshore oil and gas. SA/AM Saba
