President Saleh holds meeting with Sudanese, Algerian leaders

DOHA, June 15 (Saba) – President Ali Abdullah Saleh, the Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir and the President of Algeria Abdel Aziz Boutefliqa held a meeting here on Wednesday on the sideline of the G-77 summit. The three leaders discussed the current situation in the Middle East and Africa, particularly efforts to push the Middle East peace process forward and current situation in Iraq. They also discussed the situation in the Sudanese region of Darfur and the Sudanese government’s peace efforts. Moreover, they discussed means of enhancing the enter-Arab solidarity and joint Arab work. President Saleh and Algeria’s Boutefliqa confirmed support of their country to efforts of the Sudanese government to maintain security and stability in Sudan and realize peace in Darfur. The three Arab leaders also coordinated positions over discussion topics of the G-77 summit and discussed ways of improving the role of the Arab League. AH/KM saba
