President Saleh highlights Yemen unification in Seoul

SEOUL, April 26 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh delivered on Tuesday a lecture on Yemen Unification in Seoul National University as he was welcomed to the campus by the rector and deans of SNU colleges. The rector of the university expressed warm welcome to President Saleh thanking him for granting the university 400 books on the Arab and Islamic history. He said that SNU highly appreciates the allocation of higher studies seats for Korean students in Sana’a University as part of the cultural cooperation between the two universities. In his lecture, President Saleh recalled the pre-unity developments and the regional factors that accelerated the unification of the country. He said the former northern and southern Yemen have made bilateral concessions in order to unify peacefully and hoped “the two Koreas can unify likewise”. “Unification is often achieved and protected by the wills of the peoples. Unity is a matter of course, but separation is an exception.” AA/NS SABA
