President Saleh: Helping tsunami victims a religious duty

SANA’A, Jan 19 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh said on Wednesday that helping the fellow Moslems and humans who fell victims to the recent tsunami disaster is a religious obligation. Addressing the nation on the eve of Eid al-Adhaha, President Saleh said that earlier Moslems have always aligned together in terms of crisis and that Yemeni people, described by prophet Mohammed (P.U.H) as “most gentle-hearted”, are supposed to be major helpers for tsunami victims. President Saleh said that pilgrimage as an annual rite in Islam is a explicit token of equality of Moslems. He called the “construction process and continual of all-inclusive reforms” a “major Jihad”. AA/AA SABA
