President Saleh hands cup to Gulf 20 winners

ADEN, Dec. 05 (Saba) – President Ali Abdullah Saleh attended Sunday evening the final match of the 20th Gulf Cup between Saudi Arabia and Kuwait in Yemen’s business capital of Aden. Kuwait stunned Saudi Arabia 1-0 in the first half of extra time to win the Gulf 20 cup for the tenth time in the championship history. Saleh handed the cup, which was made from the pure white gold in Italy, and gold medals to the Kuwaiti team, while silver medals went to the Saudi team. Three Kuwaiti footballers won awards as the best player, the best goalkeeper and the top goalscorer in the tournament.Prime Minister Ali Mujawar, Deputy Prime Minister of Kuwait Sheikh Ahmad Fahd al-Ahmad, President of the Asian Football Confederation Mohammad bin Hammam and heads of participating delegations attended the match.
