President Saleh discusses with Spanish King mutual, regional issues

MADRID, Jan. 29 (Saba)- In a reception meeting held here on Tuesday for President Ali Abdullah Saleh, president discussed with the Spanish King Juan Carlos means of enhancing mutual cooperation relations between the two countries in the different political, economic, investment, security and cultural fields in the framework of the current mutual partnership between the two countries. He also welcomed Spanish investments in Yemen, confirming that they would get all support and encouragement. The meeting also dealt with current developments in the area, on top of which are developments in Palestine, Iraq and Somalia, as well as international efforts exerted in combating terror. President Saleh expressed hope that the Spanish government would play an active role, either individually or with EU countries, for pressing Israel to stop its aggression and lift its barbarian blockade imposed on the Palestinian people in Gaza, in addition to pushing process of realizing just and comprehensive peace in the area. Saleh asked the Spanish government to release Al-Jazeera satellite channel reporter, Taisir Allouni, and exempt him from the rest of imprisonment period sentenced against him. MS/AM Saba
