President Saleh chairs General Committee of GPC’s meeting

SANA’A, April 09 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh chaired here on Monday a meeting of the General Committee of General People’s Congress (GPC). including the general secretary of GPC Abdul- Qader Ba- Jammal and the members of the committee. The meeting was devoted to brief the activities of the committee in all its circles in the field of organizing work. In the meeting, they also discussed a number of issues included in the meeting action plan such as activating the organizing activities, holding the periodical meeting of the local and permanent committees of the GPC, the role of al-Methaq Institute in training the cadres of GPC. President Saleh, gave orders to follow the GPC’s directions in seperating between the party work and executive work, except for necessary cases related to the public interest, pointing out to the importance of activating the political and organizing work inside the GPC and creating coordination among the party work and executive work, and the GPC’s parliamentary front. Saleh pointed to the importance of coordination among the general committee, government and GPC’s parliamentary front aiming to provide all the laws and decisions taken by the three sides with positive notes. He told the committee members that their mission in the political work is more important than executive work seeking to achieve all the national rights by GPC such as the parliamentary election in 2009. He added that the GPC faces a great challenge, and it should overcome them as it did last time for serving the people who gave it all their trust, confirming the importance of the coming period. All the people in the general committee, parliamentary front and the government have to work as a one team to achieve all the national missions to serve the country and public interest, Saleh concluded.
