President Saleh blames poverty and injustice for terrorism

ROME, Nov 25 (Saba) – President Ali Abdullah Saleh maintains that the battle against terrorism can’t be won as long as poverty and international injustice are still there. Speaking to reporters upon arrival in the Italian capital Rome on Thursday,President Saleh said that the scourge of extremism is propped up by the existing international injustice and hunger in the developing countries.He, however, called for stepping up efforts for peace and counterterrorism. President Saleh also called on Italy for further support of reconstructionin Somalia which has recently elected a new President. President Saleh, who is in a tour in Europe that started with Germany, invited Italian and German businesspersons to invest in Yemen. AA/AASABA
