President Saleh attends training for Morale Guidance officers

SANA’A, April 12, (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh delivered a speech in the 2nd Training Course for Moral Guidance Officers held by the Department of Moral Guidance. The course which opened on April 3 is scheduled to last up to 28 April, 2004. President Saleh said that the Moral Guidance officers must be qualified to keep pace with the up-to-date relevant developments. “The moral guidance officer has to be up to the job,” Saleh said. “The world has become a village due to technology. Thereby, the Moral Guidance officer has to come to grips with the concerning state-of-the-art developments.” “The armed forces must be far from the negative influences of political pluralism. The military must be a neutral institution while holding allegiance to the nation only,” Saleh said. “”Democracy, pluralism and freedom of expression guarantee the progress of the nation” in all fields, he noted. The President pledged further efforts to upgrade the efficiency of the armed forces and expressed the commitment of the government to improve the living standards the soldiers. AA/NSSABA
