President Saleh attends meeting for youths and students in Aden

ADEN, Nov. 10 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh attended on Saturday the opening session of the fifth meeting for youths and students that is being held in Aden city. Some 1500 youths from different governorates of the country are taking part in the meeting. In his speech, President Saleh said that the youths are guard of the unification and supporters of development. ” My sons, don’t worry about their unification, it is protected by honest peoples in various legislative consultative and executive corporation as well as military and security bodies and civil society organizations,” he said. He pointed out to the efforts have been exerted to carry out his electrical platform. He also indicated to the positive outcomes of the London donors conference which resulted in getting pledges of the donors at around $5 billion. He welcomed local, Arab and foreign investors, saying that the Yemeni people will protect them . He addressed the investors by insuring protection of their investments and caring of the governorate to create jobs for youths to reduce unemployment rate. He highlighted achievements of the local councils experience. He also affirmed concern of the General People Congress party (GPC) to apply laws, saying that the rights of working in the government corporations is for all even they are from other parties. He added that any obstacles against development and investment is damaging the nation, calling on all political parties for dialogue to sever the country. He said that the goal of demonstrations and sit ins is to face against goals of the development mentioned in the electoral program. He pointed to the steps taken for resolving housing problem for people of limited incomes, saying that directives of setting up several housing units in Aden, Sana’a, Hodeidah, Hajjah, Abyan, Lahj and al-Dila as a first phase for three coming years. He said that Yemen has adopted multiparty and press freedom, but there are writers who try to damage unification and call for regionalism. AH/YA Saba
