President Saleh attends al-Ashwal’s funeral

SANA’A,(Saba) – President Ali Abdullah Saleh participated Saturday in the funeral of the revolution man Saleh Ali al-Ashwal. Vice-President Abdu-Rabu Mansour Hadi, Prime Minister Abdul-Qader Ba-Jammal. Chairman of the Shura Council Abdul-Aziz Abdul-Ghani attended the funeral along with a number of officials in the government. Al-Ashwal’s corpus was put on gun carriage covered by Yemen’s flag and moved to the al-Shuhada graveyard. He was one of the freedom fighters who launched the 26 September revolution in 1962. He had joined the school of military officers, which formed the secret regime of free officers. Al-Ashwal worked as a member of the Revolution Council, minister of public works Yemen’s ambassador to France, Belgium, the Soviet Union and Syria. He was transferred from the diplomatic corps promoted to the Shura Council. JW/KM SABA
