President Saleh arrives in Manama

MANAMA, Feb. 23 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh arrived Tuesday in the Bahraini capital, Manama, in a state visit to hold talks with the King of Bahrain Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa. He was received by King Hamad Al Khalifa, Prime Minister Prince Salman Al Khalifa, Foreign Minister Sheikh Khalid Bin Ahmed Al Khalifa and a number of Bahraini ministers and officials. Upon arrival, President Saleh expressed to the media his happiness to visit the Kingdom of Bahrain to meet with King Hamad Al Khalifa in order to discuss with him different issues concerning both countries and the region as a whole. “We are happy for the continuous growth witnessed by the Yemeni and Bahraini relations in different domains and we will always work to push them ahead to meet aspirations of the Yemeni and Bahraini peoples,” Saleh said. “We express our appreciation for Bahrain’s king, government and people for their supportive stances for Yemen’s unity, security and stability,” he added. There is no doubt that exchanging visits between officials of the two countries promotes ties and pushes cooperation fields towards wider horizons, Saleh noted. He re-welcomed the Bahraini investment in Yemen, affirming that they will be given all required support and facilities and noted the multiple opportunities to exchange interests and benefits between Yemen and Bahrain. For his part, Bahrain King Hamad Al Khalifa welcomed President Saleh, affirming the strong brotherly ties linking Yemen and Bahrain. Then, the two leaders held a talks session dedicated for discussing means of reinforcing the two countries relations as well as joint cooperation. The talks also dealt with the latest situation developments in the region of concern to both countries. Saleh arrived in Bahrain following his visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia where he held talks with Saudi King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud. AM/AM
