President Saleh applauds Syrian withdrawal
SANA’A, April 17 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh applauded the Syrian withdrawal from Lebanon in the aftermath of relevant international pressures. In a session of formal talks with the visiting Syrian Prime Minister Naji al- Utri, head of the Syrian side in the meeting of the Yemeni-Syrian Supreme Committee, president Saleh said that Syria’s withdrawal foils the pretext of targeting it. He, however, called for a corporate pan-Arab economic integration to withstand the common challenges. They discussed aspects of mutual relations between Yemen and Syria and means of enhancing fields of cooperation on different levels. The Syrian premier briefed president Saleh on the results of Sunday’s meeting of the joint committee. The committee is expected to sign agreements of cooperation in areas of sea transport, agriculture, social affairs, tourism, environment and other spheres of cooperation. President Saleh highlighted the insistence of Yemen to effectively enforce its agreements with Syria in order to push the relations further forward. He asked the Syrian premier to convey his bes wishes of welfare for his Syrian counterpart Bashar al-Asad continued prosperity for the people of Syria. AH/AASABA
