President receives Syrian Ba’ath party official

SANA’A, Feb. 11 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh received on Thursday the Assistant Secretary General of the Syrian Ba’ath Arab Socialist Party Abdullah al-Ahmar along with the accompanying delegation, currently in an official visit to the country. During the meeting, al-Ahmar conveyed greetings of Syrian President Bashar Al-Asad and his wishes of continuous health, and for the Yemeni people further progress and welfare. They reviewed the fraternal relations between the two countries and means of reinforcing them in different areas. Al-Ahmar reaffirmed stance of Syria by Yemen’s security, stability and unity, indicating the excellence of the Yemeni and Syrian relations. For his part, President Saleh valued the supportive stands of Syria with Yemen, affirming this is so common of Syria in supporting Yemen in its different stages. He asked al-Ahmar to convey his greetings to President Al-Asad with wishes of continuous health, and his wishes for the Syrian people of more progress and welfare. AM/AM Saba
