President receives phone call from Somali president

ADEN, Jan. 01 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh received on Monday evening a phone call from the Somali President Abdullah Yusuf Ahmed. Over the phone, they exchanged congratulations on Eid al-Adha, wishing prosperity and stability for their nations. The Somali leader briefed president Saleh on the latest developments in the Somalia, saying that the forces of the Somali interim government managed to control all regions in Somalia. He confirmed that the Ethiopian forces came to help in response to a request from the Somali government. He said that the Ethiopian forces would withdraw after settling security and stability in Somalia. President Saleh affirmed importance of reconciliation between all Somali factions to enhance security and stability in the African country in order to rebuild Somali. AH/AH SABA
