President receives letter from Italian president
SANA’A, – President Ali Abdullah Saleh received on Sunday a letter from Italian President Giorgio Napolitano. The letter dealt with adherence of Italy to enhance the friendship ties with Yemen and work jointly to serve the peace in the region. The letter was exerted during president’s meeting with the Minister of the European Affairs Emma Bonino who is heading the Italian delegation to Sana’a Conference on Democracy, Political Reform and Freedom of Expression. During the meeting, they discussed the conference’s agenda over the democracy and political reforms as well as means of enhancing the dialogue between governments and organizations of civil society Bonino hailed the Yemeni sponsorship for the conference that seeks to strengthening the democratic dialogue and human rights. President Saleh praised the results of Sana’a Declaration, which has been issued since two years ago by Sana’a Conference for Democracy, Human Rights and International Criminal Court. He said that the declaration contributed in enhancing the dialogue between governments and civil organizations. He also hailed the efforts of Bonino and organization ” No Peace Without Justice” in supporting the justice in democracy. He highlighted good level of the Yemeni- Italian relations. TD/AH SABA
