President orders government to support YWU

SANA’A, June 19 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh received on Thursday chairwoman and members of the new executive office of Yemeni Women Union (YWU) and listened to an explanation of the results of the general conference of YWU which was held recently in Sana’a. Saleh expressed pleasure at the results of the conference, pointing out that the Yemeni woman is an essential partner of the Yemeni man in the process of development. He directed the government to offer all kinds of support for YWU so as to achieve its objectives of serving the Yemeni woman and activating her role in the society. For their part, members of the new executive office of the union praised the support offered by the president to the union to enable it to perform its role actively in the public life, affirming that the union will carry out its tasks to prove role of Yemeni women in the different fields of life.
