President opens projects in Hodeidah

HODEIDAH, Dec 27 (Saba) – President Ali Abdullah Saleh laid down foundation stones and opened here on Saturday a number of service and development projects with a total cost of YR 13 billion. He opened the second communication center that costs YR 500 million and laid down foundation stones for projects of extending some roads and improving water networks. He also opened a YR-1-billion power plant with a capacity of 12 MW that is intended to enhance electricity supply for the Hodeidah province. Meanwhile, president Saleh visited the Hodeidah port where he kicked off works in the new platforms in the port which costs YR 2.8 billion. AH/NM/KM SABA
