President meets with Hong Kong businessmen
HONG KONG, April 08 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh, along with a number of Yemeni businessmen attended Saturday in Hong Kong a reception ceremony organized by Hong Kong businessmen.
In the ceremony, president Saleh expressed his pleasure for meeting with the Hong Kong businessmen, welcoming the Chinese investments, in general, and the Hong Kong investments, in particular in Yemen, especially in Aden Free Zone.
He expressed hop that the investments in Hong Kong move to be in the Yemeni economic and commercial capital “Aden”, saying that the Yemen government would offer all facilities to the Chinese investors in accordance with the Yemeni investment law which eases measures of setting investmental projects in Yemen.
President said that the lands would also be given for free for investmental projects which cost more than US$ 10 million.
He pointed out to the chances of the investments in Yemeni islands in the Red Sea and Arab Sea. He added “Yemen is a democratic country grounded in freedom of expression and respecting human rights.”
Yemen is also a safe and stable country, especially after the unification in May 22 1990, he said.
He made it clear that the Yemeni private sector would be a partner for Chinese investments which would not only cover Yemen’s needs but also would extend to Africa and the Middle East countries too.” Saleh concluded.
