President meets with GPC bloc

Sana’a, April 30 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh met on Saturday with the General People’s Congress (GPC) bloc and discussed with them the current situations in the national arena in the light of the political, economic, social and cultural crisis in the country. They reviewed articles of the Gulf initiative which was presented by foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to solve the Yemeni crisis. The meeting affirmed keenness to positively deal with the initiative in a way achieving the general interests and preserving social peace. They also stressed the significance of activating role of the GPC with all its different components to confront requirements of the current and future stage as a main player in the political life in order to reinforce democratic pluralism. Meanwhile, another meeting was also held by the President Saleh and Vice President Abdu Rabu Mansour Hadi with the GPC blocs in the Parliament and Shoura Council, in addition to members of the General Assembly of the GPC. The participants shed lights on events in the country caused by the Joint Meeting Parties, in addition to efforts exerted to solve the crisis, specially the Gulf initiative. The meeting affirmed to positively deal with the Gulf initiative and to implement the agreement as an integrated and undivided matrix. The meeting also pointed out to the importance of guarantees in the agreement to achieve its objectives for all parties, in the ruling part and opposition, in order to realize the national reconciliation and end political revenge. President Saleh presented a review over the situations in the country and the Gulf initiative presented by the Gulf foreign ministers.
