President meets UK official over London meeting

SANA’A, Nov. 08 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh met here on Wednesday the UK Under Secretary of State for International Development Gareth Thomas,who is currently visit Yemen. In the meeting, they discussed the bilateral relations and means of boosting mutual cooperation between the two countries. They also discussed the current arrangement for the Consultative Group Meeting for Yemen’s development partners set to be held in mid of November in London. President Saleh highlighted good level of the Yemeni- British relations, appreciating efforts of the British government for good preparation for the London meeting. He pointed out to the Yemeni achievements in fields of reform agenda, democracy and women participation in the public and political life, indicating to the big success that achieved in the September presidential and local elections. For his part, the UK minister said that the September’s elections were as a strong message to the international community to support Yemen inits reforms and democracy. TD/AH SABA
