President, MCC’s chief review Yemen national reforms

WASHINGTON, May 02 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh met on Wednesday with chairman of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) John Danilovich on prospects of cooperation between the corporation and Yemen. The meeting reviewed executed reforms made by the Yemeni government in all fields, in addition to democracy process in the country, women empowerment and human rights. President Saleh said that Yemen would work hard on reforming and implementing the National Agenda for Reforms within his platform, pointing out that Yemeni-American relations are growing for the interest of the two countries peoples. For his part, Danilovich declared that Yemen now is eligible for the program of the Millennium Challenge Corporation by which it would be able to get $ 35 million during this phase. “In case of continuous reforms, Yemen could get a grant from the Millennium Challenge Corporation totaled at more than $ 700 million,” he said.
