President launches security forces deployment
SANA’A, Oct 8 (Saba) – At headquarters of the Central Security, President Ali Abdullah Saleh launched on Wednesday the second phase of the deploying security forces. President listened to a detailed explanation about all phases of the plan and achievements of the first one. In a ceremony held on this occasion, President Ali Abdullah Saleh delivered a speech in which he expressed his happiness for launching the second phase of the security deployment . “I’m very happy to launch this phase of deploying security forces in governorates and districts, within these new capacities even in modern equipments or training human forces, we will maintain security and stability of the country,” president said. He pointed out that the security and stability are very important for the society and to achieve economic, social, and cultural developments, adding that in coming January, a second plan would be finished, and would include deploying 11, 100 soliders. He emphasized the importance of coordination between security bodies and local authority, saying that the governor is a head of the security committee in governorate and director of the district is a head of the security committee in it, and security bodies are one tool of the local authority to maintain security and stability. He asked two minister of local administration and interior minister to hold coordination meeting. He added that during 2004-2005, Yemen would witness a big progress in field of development, concluding his speech by appreciating efforts of the Ministry of Interior. But he urged the ministry to exert further efforts in following up of the plan and enhancing security and stability of the country. Minister of Interior Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi in his part pointed out that the first phase achieved good progress in maintaining security in governorates that were covered by the plan. Dr. Al-Alimi said that the second phase includes all governorates and highways.” The plan would achieve progress in security work to follow contemporary changes, and tourism and investmental dimensions,” he said. He added that the 2nd phase would cover 332 districts and 10, 000 Km of highways. The aim of the 2nd phase is to secure ways, souls, and possessions of the people. AH/NM SABA
