President issues new laws

SANA’A, Jan 15 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh issued on Saturday laws approving Yemen’s membership to one convent ion and one loan agreement. He issued law 9 of 2005 approving Yemen’s accession to Rotterdam Convention, which aims to ensure that the development of chemicals and pesticides is environmentally sustainable. President Saleh also issued law 10 of 2005 approving an agreement on a worth of $10,350,000 loan from the Iran-based Bank of Islamic Development to Yemen. The loan will be used to fund the construction of the Hajja-Kasher highway.The last item of each law makes it obligatory as of the date of issuance. AA/NS SABA
