President heads meeting of GPC general committee

SANA’A, April 03 (Saba)- General Committee of the General People’s Congress party (GPC) held a meeting on Thursday headed by President Ali Abdullah Saleh over current development at national level. The committee discussed the riots committed by elements in al-Dale and al-Habilein districts in Radfan region. The committee condemned the acts which disagree with Islam and principles of the nation and disturb unity and social peace. It highlighted legal measures taken by the security and local authority in Lahj and al-Dale governorates to maintain security an social peace in the region. The general committee warned of utilizing democracy and freedom climate in the country to breach the law and constitution as well as harm the national principles of the country, affirming the importance of standing against these elements who breach the law and mishandle security and stability of the nation by taking hard action against them. The committee renewed its rejection for all regional and partisan practices which disagree with the law, saying that the protection of the unity and social peace is responsibility of all. AH/AM Saba
