President hails outcomes of YSCC meetings

ADEN, Nov. 15 (Saba) – President Ali Abdullah Saleh expressed on Thursday his admiration for the results of meetings of the 18th round of the Yemeni-Saudi Coordination Council (YSCC) convened in Riyadh on November 13-14. During the meeting of the Cabinet held here under the President’s chairmanship, Prime Minister Ali Mujawar presented a report over outcomes of the 18th round of the YSCC, during which 17 agreements, protocols and memos of understanding signed between Yemen and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in various areas. Saleh stressed the importance of activating mechanisms of following up implementing such agreements, praising the brotherly relation level between Yemen and Saudi Arabia and the continuous development these relations have witnessed since signing Jeddah treaty, confirming both countries’ keenness on boosting mutual relations and partnership in different fields. He highly valued Saudi support for the development efforts in the country and the care and patronage Yemeni community in the Kingdom gets from Saudi government. On the other hand, President Saleh directed the government to initiate the work in the strategic Amran – Aden road. He also gave his orders to improve health sector in the Economic and Trade Capital of Aden including constructing a central specialized hospital to meet with needs of the citizens of Aden and adjacent areas as well as speeding up re-qualifying the Aden hospital. He also ordered to the government to give more interests in the growing needs of electricity and using the gas accompanying oil production for this purpose, taking that in consideration during signing agreements with oil companies in addition to gaining advantage from heat energy emerged from the volcanic activities in some islands in the Red Sea to generate electricity. The president also talked about the importance of accelerating the implementation of the strategic development projects that could employ the greatest number of laborers and reduce the rates of unemployment in the country. Saleh affirmed the significance of increasing financial allocations required to prepare the technical and feasibility studies for projects to insure hastening their implementation, emphasizing the observance of the Tender Law before carrying out projects.
