President directs to improve soldiers’ living, training system

SANA’A, April 11 (Saba) – President Ali Abdullah Saleh directed on Saturday Defense Ministry to improve the soldiers’ standards of living.Chairing a meeting for the leaderships of the Ministry and General Staff, President also ordered to upgrade the training system and promoting the role of observation, inspection and intelligence.President emphasized the importance of preparing properly for the military celebrations to be held on the 19th anniversary of the Unification Day May 22nd among them the large military parade.The meeting dealt with a number of issues related to efforts of building, upgrading and enhancing the combat readiness of the armed forces and the country’s defense ability.Several assessment reports were discussed on the implementation level of the training plan approved by the Ministry and the General Staff for 2009.A number of topics were also reviewed during the meeting related to the organizational and administrative aspects in the different departments of the armed forces, the ministry and the general staff, as well as issues pertaining to the observation, inspection and the military intelligence.A number of armed forces’ commanders talked during the meeting, confirming that the armed forces would be constantly on alert to defend the country’s sovereignty, security and stability.BA/AF
