President chairs meeting of Defense Ministry
SANA’A, Aug.22 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh chaired on Sunday a meeting of the Defense Ministry. The defense ministry meeting discussed a number of reports relating to issues of modernizing the armed forces and strengthening the defensive capabilities and readiness of the armed forces, as well as the training plan prepared by the Ministry and Chiefs of Staff. The meeting also dealt with tasks and duties of the armed forces to maintain the security, stability, public order and the national gains. In this regard, President Saleh highly valued the heroic role played by the armed forces and security personnel in the different phases and the successes they have achieved in maintaining security, stability and public order as well as tracking criminals and terrorists and outlaw elements. He noted to the great development witnessed by the armed forces at various configurations through the modern and qualitative building and the ownership of all facilities and equipments and various weapons to meet the needs of construction and development, so as to enable this national institution to play its role efficiently and effectively. Moreover, Saleh affirmed that the leadership would continue to give the military and security institution and its staff all the care and attention in appreciation of their duties and sacrifices for the nation, revolution, unity, democracy and development.
