President chairs meeting for National Defense Council
SANA’A, May 20 (Saba) – President Ali Abdullah Saleh chaired on Friday a meeting for the National Defense Council during which they discussed the current situations in the national arena and related consequences caused by the Joint Meeting Parties (JMP). The meeting dealt with attempts which target pulling the country to war and rebellion through destructive acts caused by al-Qaeda elements with the JMP against military and security check posts in a number of governorates. President Saleh greeted army and security personnel who were killed during their duties to preserve security and stability of the country, affirming attention will be paid to families of the martyrs and wished quick recover for the wounded. The meeting shed light on acts of foreign parties within the so called creative chaos and the new Middle East by using some political forces to implement coup on democracy and the constitutional legitimacy. The council got acquainted with the Gulf initiative, praising the positive response with the Gulf efforts based on keenness of the president in order not to slip in rebellion and bloodshed. They also discussed a number of issues and topics regarding tasks and duties of the military and security forces to maintain security and stability as well as the national achievements, in addition to facing those outlaw elements and any attempt to jump over democracy and the constitutional legitimacy.
