President attends military graduation ceremony
SANA’A, May 21 (Saba) – President Ali Abdullah Saleh attended on Wednesday a ceremony marking the graduation of new batches from military schools. The ceremony coincides with the 18th anniversary of the Reunification Day. The ceremony has been attended by senior officials, members of the parliament and Shoura councils, party representatives, scholars and a number of foreign diplomats in the country. New batches have graduated from the military schools of republican guards, special forces, military police, chemical engineering and protection school as well as a batch from the military supplies and administrative and financial affairs school. Chief of General Staff Ahmed Ali al-Ashwal addressed delivered a speech addressing the ceremony and highlighting the achievements Yemen has gained under the unity and with strong army and modern military technology. Deputy General Staff chief Ali Saeed Ubaid addressed the ceremony appreciating president Saleh’s efforts to advance military training and institutions. Ubaid said the military schools will continue to cope with new military technologies as well as modernizing the schools. The graduates speech has been delivered by lieutenant Dhaifu Allah Aghsham. On behalf of all the graduates, Aghsham appreciated the attention the Yemeni leadership represented by president Saleh gives for military schools and members. Aghsham confirmed the loyalty of all the graduates for the nation and that they have vowed to protect it from all enemies. FR Saba
