President attends meeting for Aden local council

ADEN, May 13 (Saba)-President Ali Abdullah Saleh attended on Thursday a meeting for the members of Aden local council to discuss issues of the citizens. In the meeting, president Saleh said that the local councils should double their efforts to push the wheel of development, pointing out to stage of transferring into system of local ruling with wide power which boosts role of the local authority to achieve goals of the development.He pointed out to the achievements taken place in Aden, saying that the province would witness further investment after holding 20th Gulf Football Championship.He asked the concerned bodies to issue urban planning to put an end for random constructions which damage beauty of Aden city.President Saleh called on the local authority to utilize the strategic location of the city to attract further investors and tourists.He also affirmed important role of the woman in the local council, saying that the woman would take part in further posts of political life in the country.AH
