President attends ceremony of rewarding 79 winners in memorizing the Qu'ran
SANA'A – President Ali Abdullah Saleh attended today a ceremony of rewarding 79 students who won a nationwide competition of memorizing the Holy Qu'ran.
Some 1351 students took part in the competition from different governorates of the nation.
In the ceremony, president Saleh expressed thank for the efforts exerted by the Ministry of Endowment and Religious Guidance for the well preparation of the
competition, affirming directives of authorizing the ministry, in coordination of Ministry of Education, to carry out supervising activities on schools of memorizing Qu'ran.
He announced donation of government of YR100,000 for each winner and the same amount for each judge of the competition.
Minister of Endowment and Religious Guidance Hamoud al-Hitar said that the completion is a first step toward international completion, adding that his ministry managed to set up 588 centers for memorizing Quran.
He made it clear that the ministry adopted policy of guidance based on Quran, and Sunna, constitution and moderation as well as tolerance and national loyalty.
