President arrives in Sudanese Capital Khartoum

KHARTOUM, Dec 26(Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh arrived on Sunday afternoon in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum to moderate Yemen’s delegation in the 8th summit of Sana’a Coalition for Cooperation on December 27-28. He was welcomed by Sudan’s President Lit. Gen. Umar Hassan al-Bashir The coalition, which consists of Yemen, Ethiopia and Sudan, will be convening on December 27-28 and senior other leaders of Sudan. Speaking to reporters on the arrival, President Saleh said the summit would especially vital since it follows the success of the three coalition members, Yemen, Sudan and Ethiopia to cooperate in field of economy and security and to keep the regularity of summits. “We are looking forward, in this summit, to the creation of broader horizons of cooperation between our nations,” he said. Saleh renewed his invitation to the countries of the Horn of Africa to join the coalition saying it is open for any country of the region ready to “abide by its statute”. “There is no doubt that the option of dialogue will be in the interest of all nations. It will help them to pursue their developments.” The summit is scheduled to discuss economic, political and security cooperation between the coalition members. Noteworthy, Sana’a coalition was created during the Yemeni-Sudanese summit in October, 2002 in Addis Ababa. AA/NS SABA
