Phoning UAE President, Saleh renews welcome to GCC initiative

SANA’A, May 01 (Saba) – President Ali Abdullah Saleh reiterated on Sunday welcome to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)-brokered initiative.During a phone call President Saleh made with President Khalifa Bin Zayad Al Nahyan of United Arab Emirates, Saleh affirmed that initiative’s articles should be carried out completely as a whole, indivisible and non-selective system.Saleh expressed his appreciation of the GCC’s endeavors and adherence to Yemen’s security, stability and unity.For his part, Al Nahyan affirmed that his country stands by the security, stability and unity of Yemen.Moreover, Saleh and Al Nahyan reviewed the situations in the Arab region and the two countries’ positions towards them, topped by the situations in Yemen, as well as the efforts made by GCC’s member states to tackle the current impasse in Yemen.HA/AF
