Omani Sultan receives letter from President Saleh
MUSCAT, May 08 (Saba) – Omani Sultan Qaboos Bin Said al Said received here on Sunday a letter from President Ali Abdullah Saleh. The letter, handed over by Prime Minister Ali Mujawar in his meeting with the Omani Sultan, focuses on the latest developments in the Yemeni arena and the available means to maintain the security and stability of Yemen and the region’s states. It also deals with the brotherly relations and cooperation aspects between Yemen and Oman. During the meeting, the Prime Minister and the Omani Sultan also reviewed the current situation in Yemen as well as a number of issues of common concerns. Mujawar arrived in Oman on Sunday, initiating his Gulf tour that will take him to Kuwait, Bahrain, the UAE and Saudi Arabia. In the tour, Mujawar will deliver letters from President Saleh to the Gulf countries’ leaders about the domestic developments and the efforts made to overcome the current political crisis. Mujawar said in a statement that the letters include confirmation on the keenness of Yemen and its political leadership on the success of the Gulf-brokered initiative to address the political crisis in the country. He considered the Gulf initiative to be an opportunity for all political factors to surmount the crisis, valuing highly the keenness shown by the GCC brotherly member states to put an end to the crisis in Yemen.
