Oman Sultan writes Saleh
SANA’A, May 25 (Saba) – Governor of Oman’s Thafar city Mohammed Bin Marhoon al-Ma’amari arrived Monday in Yemen on a visit during which he will deliver a letter from Oman’s Sultan Qaboos Bin Said to President Ali Abdullah Saleh over the bilateral relationship. Few days ago, when unity anniversary celebrations began, Oman revoked the citizenship of former Yemeni vice president Ali Salim al-Baidh. The revocation was prompted by remarks of the Yemeni official aired on the eve of the Unity Day when he was poised to relaunch his political career. Under effective Omani laws, al-Baidh’s citizenship was automatically withdrawn as he made a decision to come back to exercising his political interests without permission from the country to where he headed after his separatist followers lost the 1994 war for the legitimate forces in the north.
