Mujawar reviews aspects of cooperation with Chinese Vice President
SANA’A, June 25 (Saba)- Prime Minister Ali Mujawar reviewed on Wednesday with Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping the Yemeni-Chinese cooperation ties in areas of economics and investments, particularly in the sectors of oil, minerals, gas, industrial zones, fisheries, telecommunications, infrastructure, electricity and constructions. Mujawar affirmed Yemen’s keenness to develop relations with Chinese in political, economic and cultural fields, highlighting the official visit paid by President Ali Abdullah Saleh to Beijing in 2006 and its positive effects to promote bilateral cooperation between the two countries. He expressed confidence that the current visit of the Chinese Vice President to Yemen would contribute to developing the distinctive relations of both countries particularly in the sectors of trade and investments, welcoming Chinese investors in various sectors and affirming that Chinese investments would receive the necessary facilities and full care. For his part, the Chinese Vice President hailed his country’s relations with Yemen dating back to about 1500 years in political, economic and cultural fields. “We welcome Yemen’s products in Chinese markets and call for establishing a cooperation strategy of both countries for long-term”, said Jinping. Jinping expressed his country’s aspiration to strengthen cooperation ties in fields of oil and gas explorations, noting his country would provide necessary facilities for Chinese investments in this sector in Yemen. He also expressed his country’s appreciation for Yemen’s support to Chinese issues, particularly concerning Taiwan, Tibet and human rights. SA/YA Saba
