Members of NSAA take constitutional oath before the president

SANA’A, July 04 (Saba)- Members of the National Supreme Anti-corruption Authority (NSAA) took the constitutional oath, on Wednesday, before President Ali Abdullah Saleh. The President then chaired the first meeting of the authority that consists of eleven members, expressing his happiness to chair the meeting. “I am happy to chair the first meeting of the authority and congratulate all members of the authority for the confidence they got from the parliament and personally from me for combating corruption.” He gave the authority all the power to make field visits and getting reports from all the country’s institutions “we are confident of all country’s institutions but corruption could be found in any office and thus we have to combat corruption with responsibility and you have the power to make field visits and receive reports from all the country’s institutions whether they are executive, legislative, military or security.” Saleh confirmed that all the state’s institutions are controlled by the authority but within a clean scientific mechanism that enables the authority of practicing censorship, especially censoring the state budgets and the way of spending them. President addressed the members by saying: “Many of you have experience in this field for you have worked in country’s institutions and the process of choosing was not random.” MS/AMSaba
