Mass pro-constitutional legitimacy rallies held across Yemen
SANA’A, Oct. 21 (Saba)- Millions of people took part on Friday in mass rallies in the public squares of the capital Sana’a and other governorates of the country, under the slogan “Read in the Name of Your Lord Who has Created”. After performing Friday prayers, people staged demonstrations and rallies, renewing their pledge of patriotism and their commitment to maintain the security and stability of Yemen. The crowds chanted slogans, expressing their love to the country and absolute loyalty to Allah and then to country, revolution and unity. They reaffirmed their firm stands with the constitutional legitimacy and political leadership represented by President Ali Abdullah Saleh and refusing all forms of plots hatched by terrorists and saboteurs. They also affirmed that the majority of the Yemeni people were standing with the constitutional legitimacy, accenting their readiness to stand beside the armed forces and security forces against any attempts to coup on the constitutional legitimacy. In the capital Sana’a, crowds of people headed for al-Sabeen Square to confirm their firm attitudes supporting law and order and refusing sabotage and anarchy. The participants raised Yemeni flags and posters of President Ali Abdullah Saleh, chanting slogans denouncing any attempts to coup on constitutional legitimacy or any plots to drag Yemen into sedition and separations. The crowds upheld the President’s call for dialogue and his all decisions to achieve the higher national interests, reiterating their call for the Joint Meeting Parties (JMP) to respect the will of the people, who supports the constitutional legitimacy, and to put the nation’s interests above all else and to sit at a table of dialogue to end the current crisis.
