GPC official: Al-Houthi won’t accept President’s initiative to stop confrontations in Saada
SANA’A, Jan. 03(Saba)- Head of the General Peoples’ Congress (GPC) Media Circle Tareq al-Shami has doubted that al-Houthi elements will accept the initiative of President Ali Abdullah Saleh to stop the confrontations in Saada province, the state-run al-moatamar.net reported Sunday. Al-Shami affirmed that the start point of stopping the war in Saada would only be achieved by accepting all the 6 announced conditions and without any conditions in return. In a statement to a Saudi journal, he made clear that al-Houthi insurgents in Saada have to accept all the government’s conditions, adding it is important to form a committee for preparing implementation mechanism of these conditions in a specific time. He also referred to the previous attempts where the government accepted to stop the army operations which were led to failure and gave a chance for these rebels to recollect and buy weapons, find hideouts and block the roads for continuing this war. Moreover, if there is no acceptance of all the conditions including not targeting neighboring countries, the rebels will face the same previous circumstances, he added FJ/AM Saba
