Arab Federation of Journalists welcomes new Presidential amendments

SANA’A, May 31, (Saba)- The Association of Yemeni Journalists and the Arab Federation of Journalists welcomed on Monday President Ali Abdullah Saleh’s amendments of the Journalism Law. This move is a response to an urgent demand by the press, read a statement from the association. The association highlighted the need for more cooperation between the government and the parliament in matching the amendments of the law with actions. It asked for the right of partnership in any draft changes of the Journalism Law. The new amendments abolish the imprisonment of journalists on basis of expressing their minds. AA/AA SABA
